About the data
Map by Travis Cody Smith. Built November 1, 2026 for a proposal to the City of Ontario. Independent map. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the City of Ontario, the City of Pomona, Fairplex, SBCTA, Omnitrans, Metrolink, LA Metro or any business shown; it uses their public pages and data.
In short: this map is locked to one historic corridor, Holt Boulevard, the east-west road that the West Valley Connector bus rapid transit line runs on, from Ontario International Airport and the Ontario Convention Center in the east, through downtown Ontario on Euclid Avenue and Montclair, to downtown Pomona, the Pomona Transit Center, the Pomona Arts Colony and Fairplex in the west. It is for exploring and defining what a visitor partnership between the City of Ontario, the City of Pomona and Fairplex would contain: Pomona draws, Ontario hosts, transit connects.
Pomona drawsFairplex, the Knight Riders Cricket Ground, the LA County Fair, the Millard Sheets Art Center, the Arts Colony galleries and downtown Pomona dining.
Ontario hostsThe airport, the Convention Center and its expansion, the convention hotel, the hotel rooms along Holt, and the historic downtown on Euclid Avenue.
Transit connectsThe West Valley Connector on Holt, Metrolink and the Metro A Line at Pomona and Montclair, and the two-mile gap between the Pomona Transit Center and Fairplex.

Hotel: color is the tier, size grows with rooms; the room count is on the card. A dashed outline means a hotel outside Ontario.Ring with a number: that many places grouped at this zoom (red hotels, green Pomona assets, teal businesses). Zoom in or tap it to split.Pomona asset (green) and Ontario asset (red): venues, districts and civic anchors with a card each.Business along Holt: small dot colored by category; dots gather into numbered bubbles when zoomed out.Holt spine: the corridor's centerline, Fairplex side of Pomona to Vineyard Avenue.West Valley Connector route and stations; Metrolink and Metro A Line stations are squares. The gap: the two miles between the Pomona Transit Center and Fairplex that no frequent transit covers yet.
Notes
The view is locked to a box from the west side of Fairplex to Ontario International Airport, and from the Pomona North and Montclair stations in the north to the Ontario East Metrolink station in the south, so the map can be used to define the corridor without drifting off it.
Hotels are the properties from the Ontario Hotel Map that fall inside the box: Ontario hotels from the GOCAL roster and the City's info sheets, and Pomona, Montclair and Claremont hotels from directory listings checked against official sites and meetings directories, with room counts and sources on each card [1][2][3].
Pomona and Ontario assets are the venues, districts, stations and civic anchors a partnership would be built around; each card names the official page it was read from.
Businesses along Holt are restaurants, shops and services on or within about a quarter mile of Holt between Euclid Avenue and the Pomona Transit Center: every named business tagged in OpenStreetMap in that band, plus businesses named by official and press sources, placed by address with the US Census Bureau geocoder. Churches, schools and parks from OpenStreetMap are left out. The list is a sample of the corridor, not a census of it.
The Holt spine is the road's centerline merged from OpenStreetMap way geometry [4]. The West Valley Connector alignment and stations follow SBCTA and Omnitrans [5][6]; rail lines are drawn from OpenStreetMap track geometry and stations from Metrolink and LA Metro [7][8].
City limits are the official boundaries from the Board of Equalization layer, loaded live with a saved copy as fallback [9].
When a hotel, business or dining card opens, its Google rating, review count, price band and current photo are fetched live from Google Places under the map owner's key and shown with a link to the Google listing; they are not stored in this repository [10].
Every link was checked by script and by AI research agents on November 1, 2026; sites that block scripted requests were read in a browser. Items that could not be verified say so on their cards: the cricket ground's capacity and exact position, Craft Collective's current status, the convention hotel's 650 versus 600-plus rooms, the Arts District North boundary, and the Town Square farmers market.
